Bassim - الله الله ياجاسم (Allah Allah..Ya Jasim)

Desc: This is one of Mulla Bassims' new latmaya recitations from Muharram 1429.
Al Hajj Mulla Bassim Karbalaei recites for the tragedy of Karbala, over 1300 years since the massacre of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his family and companions. Imam Hussain (a.s.) is the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Here Mulla Bassim recites for Qasim (a.s.), nephew of Imam Hussain (a.s.), and son of Imam Hassan (a.s.), also the grandson of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Qasim was a young boy of fourteen or younger, who wished to go and fight for Imam Hussain (a.s.) when there was no one left to defend the Imam. Qasim was married on the day he died to Imam Hussain's daughter - due to a promise Imam Hussain made to Imam Hassan before Imam Hassan passed away. Qasim fought valiantly and killed many before he was overwhelmed and slaughtered by the enemy. His young age and innocence reflects what the tragedy of Karbala was - oppression, the stand against justice even when outnumbered, and that blood defeated the sword...with Qasim and the other heroes of Karbala that are and served the family of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.) and Islam...still remembered even after 1300 years.
على الرغم من أن الامام الحسين توفي منذ ما يقارب 1300 عام , إلا أن شهادته وكفاحه ومحنته هي مصدر الهام الملايين في جميع انحاء العالم اليوم. الملايين تبكي وتحزن عليه كما لو أنه توفي بالامس. قصيدة الرثاء هذه هي استذكار لآل محمد وكفاحهم واضطهادهم. ضرب الصدر ليس فقط تعبيرا ثقافيا عن الحزن ولكنه في الأساس يعبر عن مشاركة آل محمد في مأساتهم ويخلق جوا من الحزن. كما يظهر أن حبهم هام ونقي ويثيب الله تعالى عليه
Despite that Imam Hussain died over 1300 years ago, his martyrdom, struggle and tribulation is an inspiration to millions around the world today. Millions mourn and cry for him, as if he died yesterday.
This eulogy is a remembarance of the family of Mohammed and their struggles and oppression. The chest beating as just a cultural way of mourning, many different cultures have their own ways of mourning and grieving. Chest beating is like clapping, it has no significant harm to the body. The foundation of mourning the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his family, those who strived in the way of Allah (swt), represents joining them in their tragedy and creates a sense of grief ad sadness for them. Showing love for them is important, pure, and rewardable by Allah (swt), and is a command of the Holy Quraan:
قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى
(Surat 42, ayaat 23)

Surely we belong to God, and to him we shall surely return
لاَّ يُحِبُّ اللّهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوَءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ إِلاَّ مَن ظُلِمَ وَكَانَ اللّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا
Allah loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He who heareth and knoweth all things.
(Surat 4, Ayaat 148)
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ
And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans;
(Surat 16, Ayaat 53)
قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى
Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives;
(Surat 42, Ayaat 23)
ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ
That (shall be so); and whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts.
(Surat 22, Ayaat 32)
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُمْ بِأَيَّامِ اللّهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.
(Surat 14, Ayaat 5)

Desc: We need to remember that humanity is fallible and, therefore, people may act ignorantly. For this reason, in our endeavor to
know Allah, we turn to the Qur'an, the most reliable and unique source, the just Book in which Allah explains everything a
person needs to know. When we refer to it for the answer to the above questions, we see that Allah is everywhere. He is
nearer to you than your jugular vein, witnesses and sees everything you do, hears every word you utter, knows your innermost
prayer, and is beside you at every moment. Furthermore, Allah talks to His servants with whom He wishes to speak. For
instance, the Qur'an relates that He talked to Prophet Musa (as) and preferred him to all other human beings alive at that
time. Allah also created angels and jinn, as well as the afterlife, where each individual will have an eternal existence in
the Hereafter. Allah also explains how we should live in order to attain Paradise after death. |
