Jean-Pierre Léaud and Patrick Auffay - 16mm screen tests
![]() |
Desc: Audition footage of Jean-Pierre Léaud, Patrick Auffay and Richard Kanayan for François Truffaut's "Les Quatre cents coups" (1959)
in French with English subtitles
0:00-1:34 is the Léaud audition footage
1:34-2:58 is Léaud and Patrick Auffay audition with improv dialogue
2:59-6:23 is the Richard Kanayan footage
It's mostly audition footage of Richard Kanayan, who played a kid in "The 400 Blows" and a part in "Tirez sur le pianiste" ("Shoot the piano player", François Truffaut, 1960)
Patrick Auffay played René in Truffaut's "Les Quatre cents coups" (1959) and "Antoine et Colette" (1962)
Léaud actually ran away from school for this audition, and that audacity probably helped his chances for this role. |
