Desc: Heres a virtual movie of the great world war two soldier poet Keith Castellan Douglas 1920 -1944 the most celebrated british poet of WW2 a young officer in the British army a he was tank commander when killed during the Normandy having decanted from his tank to write a report he was killed instantly by an almost invisible fragment of an exploding German mortar shell. Douglas the son of a British army officer had studied literature at Oxford university under the ww1 poet Edmund Blunden he is deservedly remembered for his almost metaphysical style in which he often described graphicaly the horrors of war and is among my favourite poets and one I have a great feeling of affinity with.
