East Coast Vijayan, famous for pioneering the concept of musical albums in Malayalam, is also well-known as an organizer. Now he is stepping into movie direction with a film titled 'Novel'. Jayaram plays the lead role in the film. South Indian actress Sada is getting ready to try her luck in the Malayalam industry through the film.
The movie tells a sensitive musical love story. The story revolves around Sethunath (Jayaram) a married man who runs an advertising company and a young girl Priya Nandini who comes to sing in his studio. Their friendship begins to grow, causing problems in Sethu's family life.
Sada who plays the role of Priya, was the heroine of the famous Tamil flick 'Anniyan'. She has appeared in a dance sequence in Joshi's film before. Devan plays a negative role as Chandradas, a businessman married to Sethunaths sister. Sethunath is married to Chandradas sister. Chandradas always creates problems for Sethunath.
Story and the script are by the director himself and the movie will also have a number of love songs written by him. Music has been composed by three music directors - M Jayachandran, Balabhaskar and ghazal singer Umbayee. In totality there are six songs, five of them sung by K. J. Yesudas. The other singers are Sujatha and Swetha. The man behind the camera is Alagappan while still photography is by Suresh Kaniapuram. Art Direction is by Prashant Madhav. The other in the cast include Jagathy, Innocent, Nedumudi, Ganeshkumar, Indrans, Anoop and Sarika. |
