Monty Suffern performs a fantastic piano medley at the "After Hours" party during the 2008 Annual Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival.
I couldn't resist the chance to scratch on my washboard while Monty made beauful HOT music! Also, I notice toward the end that Jim Radloff sat down on the piano bench in front of the second piano and helped us finish up this number.
The first tune is "Everybody Loves My Baby," and the second one is "Nobody's Sweetheart."
Monty Suffern - piano
Jim Radloff - piano
Tom Warner - washboard
Everybody had a great time!
I hope you can be there next year!

This is a medley of just some of the hit songs composed by Percy Wenrich. They are "Put on Your Old Grey Bonnet", "When You Wore a Tulip and I Wore a Big Red Rose", "On Moonlight Bay" and "Red Rose Rag" -- all four of these composed between 1909 and 1914. (Thanks to Keeper1st for this helpful info)
Jim Radloff on Piano, Steve Standiford on Piano & Tuba, and me, the RagJazzMonkey, Tom Warner on the Vintage Strativarious Washboard. I sure had a great time and the audience was amazingly tolerant of all the extra racket I made with my laundry device.
I hurried off of the stage in order to dodge the flying tomatoes & cabbages. I was quite fortunate to not suffer any direct hits thanks to my expertise at dodge ball on the playground in grade school. If I do this again next year, I'm going to insist on a reinforced chicken wire barrier at the front of the stage.
This was on Saturday afternoon, June 7th, in the Big Tent at the Annual Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, Missouri.
